Hitting golf balls into a park meadow is littering. Had Grisar retrieved the balls he would have trampled a protected meadow that is being restored.

Yosemite’s meadows are vulnerable ecosystems, critical to both plant and animal species. They are also sponges soaking up water from melting snowpack. Most of San Francisco’s water is filtered by the park’s meadows.
