Caruso-Cabrera was a registered Republican until just a few years before 2020.

She authored a book in 2010, "You Know I’m Right: More Prosperity, Less Government," which advocates for an end to Medicare and Social Security, and criticizes Dems for being big spenders, which is a false republican trope.

Of course she’s a registered Dem now! She has to be in order to run for the seat of the Dem congressperson whose views she’s most opposed to.
