What's really the value these days for favoring the US over China? There are not ideological similarities, and most of the "cultural" similarities were simply racial in a way we're moving away from. What is Western Europe's abiding interest in going out of its way to economically couple with the US?

It's over. The post-war settlement is officially dead and buried. We chose out of it, via elections. Now, the Piper is coming to collect the fee.
