(12,359 posts)48. I'm not in the EU at the moment, but the UK. I'm debating extending my trip...
(where just a few days ago I figured cutting it short). My university is forcing us back to work in August, for face to face classes and I just can't do it. I'm safer here (which is saying a lot, as Britain's response has been awful).
But...I'm in the process of applying for a student visa for Fall term to attend law school and I've been assured it will be fine, I'll be allowed in. Now there isn't a ban yet by the EU, and the UK is now separate. But I don't think it's going to be a blanket ban. Essential business and all that. I don't really know if I believe it, but I'm planning to go back to the States, get my shit together, and as soon as my passport is back in hand, I'm out of there. Hopefully for good.

But it will be 6 months before we can start. By that point, all of those things will have happened.

All economies have tanked so hard that many might start to simply re-align by policy

Obama had a great recession to get us out of and see how long it took for us to recover.
