(23,201 posts)I don't think it undemocratic, with either a small or large "D", to express sincere constructive criticism of Democrats on important issues. I don't automatically think it is just about "dividing us" when one Democrat gets challenged by someone in a Democratic primary. I know that Bernie throughout his long career has identified primarily as an Independent, and I don't mind him being true to his own beliefs. I respect Bernie Sanders for having competed for the Democratic nomination for President rather than taking the third party route or having run as an Independent against a Democratic nominee for president in the fall.
Bernie was offered the Green Party nomination for President in 2016 but he declined it and endorsed Hillary Clinton instead. This year he is on board with Biden early. I never mind people advocating for and working for policy solutions to the problems our nation faces that fall to the left of where most Democrats currently stand. Often I am one of those who do. But Bernie Sanders understands that we have a binary choice in November and he comes down on the correct side of that choice, as does the Lincoln Project.
