How are Florida, Texas, and Arizona today? Fucked as usual, according to the stats.
The map they show in that revolving series of graphics has all three states in red - which disunites 50K+ confirmed cases.
The last "States with Most Cases" graphic I saw at 11:37am, Pacific time, had two * out of three of 'em listed in the top five:
New York - 398,929
California - 223,684
New Jersey - 176,346
Texas - 158,766 *
Florida - 152,434 *
Now, at 10:09am, the newest graphic - New Cases Over Past 72 Hours - lists all three *.
Florida - 23,381 *
California - 19,298
Texas - 15,387 *
Arizona - 8,075 *
Georgia - 6,422
I have another statistic for you. As of today, my husband and I have been in self-imposed quarantine for 114 days. We're old. But we're okay. Still healthy - and so are all our friends. But they're doing what we're doing. Staying in, wearing a mask when going out, and going out only when it's absolutely necessary.
Yesterday we tried a drive-up grocery online-order experiment. You set it up, pick out your stuff, pay, and set a time when you want to go pick it up. When the time comes, they text you a reminder, and you drive over, park in the designated pick-up area, pop the trunk open and an assistant comes out and loads your groceries into your car. Wearing gloves and mask, btw. No human contact. And no exchange of possible droplets. and then you drive home! It worked fine!
