Obama, Romney tied with Granite state voters

(CNN) – Just 49 days out from Election Day, a new poll in swing state New Hampshire released Tuesday shows President Barack Obama and Republican nominee Mitt Romney in a statistical tie among registered voters in the state.

The American Research Group poll shows 48% favoring Obama and 46% favoring Romney. The president's advantage falls within the poll's sampling error.

The poll also shows 49% approving and 44% disapproving of the way Obama is handling his job as president while 41% approve and 46% disapprove of the way he is handling the economy.

A WMUR Granite State Poll taken last week of likely voters (note the ARG poll today is of registered voters) after the Democratic National Convention also showed the pair in a statistical tie in the state with 45% favoring Obama and 40% supporting Romney with a sampling error of plus or minus four percentage points.
