In fact, they are living far too well to be on welfare, period. They get up every day, go to work, church on the weekends and are tight with their money. They are no different in their lifestyles than the most dedicated example of baggers. When a person has defined their last vestige of dignity or self-esteem from their race or sex, etc., they are scraping the bottom of the barrel as it has nothing to do with character, accomplishments or anything higher than flesh. It's a low bar.
