We may not be able to avoid getting sick but the best we can hope for is to delay it until we have new leadership and hopefully some medical technology for treatment or a vaccine.
My mom lives with me and is an elderly COPD patient on oxygen. Her O2 levels have dipped into low 90s so much and under normal circumstances I would have gotten her to the ER before now. Right now that seems like the last thing I want to do because I feel I'd be sending her there to die or contract COVID and they may not even let me stay there with her. So it's like... Do I prefer to take care of her myself and possibly have her die at home with me, or potentially get her medical help but risk having her alone in a pandemic ward where she could also die? She keeps telling me no when I say I can call an ambulance. She knows what's up.
