17. I enjoy every visit to Stone Mountain

It's got lovely scenic drives, picnic areas, covered bridges, a very nice golf course, and just overall serene feeling. You can only see the carvings from a small percentage of the park. And the buildings there have Civil War movies than are real world and not slanted toward the Confederacy.

My dad was always very wise. From the first time we visited Stone Mountain in the '60s he provided the backdrop that the South was still backwards and bigoted, and therefore that's what we were seeing on the side of the mountain.
