This is really a complex question worth of two Nobel prize

One contributing factor is: media fixation.
If someone always tunes in to faux news, never anything else, then you can be assured that he will be spun to whatever way they dictate.

Trump has formed a coalition with right wing media like faux news etc, by himself constantly labeling msm as "fake news", while the faux news only speak for him, they formed a symbiosis relationship.

Until now I was really puzzled by trump calling msm "fake news", doing so makes msm his enemy, so why?

Now I have the puzzle solved by myself and with your question as a trigger.
