4. I had to listen to a MAGA rant about this theory over the weekend.

His point: Hospitals get paid more for to treat a Covid death than a "normal" death (whatever that is) so they have a monetary incentive to jack up the number as much as possible. And the insurance companies don't care because they'll just recoup it in premiums. And he's not a lunatic fringe kinda guy - just convinced that these numbers would be "well below the normal flu" if not for hospitals getting higher payments.

Holy horse-pucky.
