4. We're using bandanas or scarves and rubber bands.

I bought a box of #33 rubber bands. I fold each mask with two bands at each end, in case one breaks. You can place a filter inside as you fold. You could also get some kind of metal for a nose piece & fold it in place, too. With the right sized rubber bands these are fairly comfortable, super easy to fold, & can be washed.
