I treat a fair number of fighters here in Philly, and I know exactly what you mean. Many years ago I had a kid here whose father was influential in politics and he set up his son’s fights and the kid actually had a pretty good record. BUT....he went to the Olympic trials and somebody really tuned him up - this kid was never the same. One of the other fighters who i treat watched the bout and said that he had never seen anyone in that category hit as hard as this kid’s opponent.

There was definitely damage from this fight. I knew him from the time he was a child and it was as though someone shorted out one-third of his brain.
