I just got into trouble in a Facebook group devoted to science fiction. Someone complained there was too much discussion about politics discussed in the group. My contention was science fiction is by definition political... It's about societies and systems... not individuals. You can't watch or read a science fiction story without the question being begged... "How did this society get here?"

I got in trouble by further pointing out that it seemed the folks complaining were always Conservative Republicans whose minds are blown when someone points out how their favorite shows/episodes had political backstories that were contrary to their worldview.

I suggested they stick to playing with playing with their spaceship models in "Pew! Pew!" laser dogfights in their basements. I expect to be banned by the end of the day.
