like the Phoenix Suns, Colorado Rockies, Dallas Cowboys or the Los Angeles Lakers (once located in Minn, land of 10m lakes). I'm proud on the Tuskegee Airmen but where is the connection to Washinton DC but the word "red"?

How about going in the recent trend of naming teams as a singular characteristic of the team locale like "The Heat" of Miami or the "Colorado Avalance" and call the team just "The District"?
