(12,051 posts)was anything that people would respond to? It's a total nothingburger. Total. Men walk up and down city streets in tan suits every day. It's like pointing at some man and snickering, "He's wearing a tie!!!" What does a tan suit mean to some people?
Let's contrast the "tan suit" fake controversy with poor Michelle Obama and the "She's wearing a sleeveless dress!!!!" nonsense. Being an old lady, I actually recognize where this may have come from -- in the old days, Miss Manners dictated that it was not businesslike to wear sleeveless dresses or blouses (or even open-toed shoes) at work, at public occasions, or at formal and semi-formal occasions. That's not true now and hasn't been true for decades, but at least it did exist at one time. And, of course, the latest First Lady(?) wears sleeveless and braless and the dolts seem fine with that.
But tan suits? I just could never figure out where that came from.
