Just did not make enough to pay income taxes the way Romney says. They worked several jobs, just as a number of state workers I know now have to work.

They pay their health insurance, retirement fund, taxes for SS and other things, but didn't end up owing at the end of the year or got EIC. Because they are taking care of other people.

One in particular did not get spousal support after their divorce and was lucky to hold onto the equity in their house and finance the rest to keep her home. She had to get food stamps and utility assistance. Her girl has Down's and she had to get her on Medicaid when she retired and her girl was no longer covered.

Most of the teachers I've known are real life savers and they do not deserve the hatred that is being flung at them from the GOP.
