94. Montana is NOT a red state

All our statewide offices are currently held by Dems. It's a very Libertarian state. Obama is not popular and up until 2010 our legislature was pretty much split down the middle. The pukes rode the wave of anti-Obama and anti-Obamacare and killed us in the state legislature. We also have an attorney general (Steve Bullock, who is running for Governor) that has been trying to defend our campaign laws against the onslaught of corporate money. The Democrat who is running to replace him is Pam Bucy and she is facing an unprecedented amount of corporate money against her. The one saving grace that I think we have here this particular election season is that people are NOT happy about the corporate money and the attack on our campaign laws. There is a symbolic ballot initiative that is anticipated to pass that will be condemning Citizens United.

We also have a decent shot to take the MOntana congressional seat. A recent poll put Democrat Kim Gillan only 3 points behind the Republican for the open seat being vacated by Dennis Rehberg, who is running against Tester.
