(2,915 posts)We need a VP who has the resume and presence to convince voters she can be president if called upon.
That disqualifies Abrams, Bottoms, and some of the other local politicians with no experience on a national scale.
We need someone who is not going to allow them to say she's a liberal Trojan horse either as someone like Warren would be.
Duckworth is someone I've admired, but never felt she was a particularly compelling speaker. Also I hate to say it, but if we're being real here, there's a reason FDR hid his paralysis from the public while up for election.
Demings has somewhat limited political experience but has very valuable real world experience as a police chief which she can say will be used to help lead criminal justice reform efforts and beat back Republican attacks that we will be soft on crime.
