why can't we pause and be careful here? Listen to the science and stay virtual for the first 2 months of the year to see if we can beat down the curve?

Instead, we're moving headlong into a catastrophe. Schools will reopen and then shutdown because they will have infections. It is that simple.

I'm a teacher and my school is opening virtual and then reassessing at the end of September. That is a logical response.
