(15,539 posts)... brought up breaks, reminding us that they weren't required to offer them and we should appreciate how they're so nice to us.
That came from the people sitting on their butts constantly, irritated if anyone interrupted their personal chit-chatting to actually make a decision on the production floor. (The occasions when production workers caught glimpses of their idleness in their air-conditioned offices. And it's not like they made good decisions in those situations, but it was required for them to be "the deciders" sometimes. If the more knowledgeable employees did it, they'd get in trouble.)
Reminds me of feudalism, with a collection of privileged lords and vassals while the serfs do the actual work. Well, it seems like it's been going more that direction in this country over the last few decades anyway.
