Even when the mail is on time it is susceptible to items getting lost, both inbound to the customer and outbound from the customer. If you insist on using the mails to pay your bills you accept the fact that mail gets lost and delayed in the best of times. It’s the nature of the beast. Human beings are involved at every step of the mail process and mistakes will happen.

So why complain now when the mail has slowed down? It also slows down around Xmas.

Now, if you don’t have a bank account and pay your bills by sending money orders, that’s something else. In that case you are very dependent on the mails.
