That's what happened. It's just taken this long for it to get to this rung down on the ladder. And we have likely not hit the very bottom yet. That doesn't happen until Republicans manage to destroy everything so that they can pay zero taxes and hang women for having abortions. Granted, that's a worse-case scenario.
