It’s that simple.

They love him for every reason you and I find him
Despicable.

He hates who they hate, he is cruel to those people they want cruelty waged upon, and he is helping Moscow Mitch to stack the judiciary with right wing nut job incompetents that will take years to undo.

They see in Trumpy their last stab at any kind of real political influence. And they are desperate to not lose that opportunity
