(53,214 posts)much like Melania, someone who is very good at reeling people in with their charm and charisma, often feigning interest in our lives, but rarely sharing their own. Friends who ask favors, but rarely reciprocate. Friends who make promises easily, but only fulfill them if it is convenient. Such people are really good at what they do and it can take a long time before we realize we've been used.
I'm still reading the book and I find myself thinking, "What's wrong with you? Just leave these people and go back to your family." I am at a point in the story where Wolkoff still has not been given a contract, hasn't been reimbursed for her many expenses, and hasn't even received a salary.
Melania collects people who suit her purposes and if they leave, she just replaces them. She is a more civilized and more presentable version of her husband. Underneath she is just another narcissist in a pool of narcissists.
