70. I have not read the book, but could her claim she believed Melania was nice, needed to make herself

"Innocent"? She after all joined them and was all in, speaking nothing but praise for Melania and her family.

What changed was they made her the scapegoat. That was not just destroying her image and her reputation, but made her suspected of real crimes that could lead to jail ... And added to this they threw her under the bus when she most needed support.

Given all that, I am glad she kept "receipts". They might prove who took those funds and what they did with them. However, in terms of describing the family, I would not trust anything she now says that is not already something many more credible people have said.

With the Trumps, most of the people close enough to know them well are creeps themselves, likely including her and Michael Cohen. This means we need to accept what they can prove and be careful to not give them any credit for being good people. I would not be surprised if we learn that some of the money, beyond what she reasonably should have received, went to her and she was happy to get it even though she had to know it was wrong.
