selfish or shallow at all! I just thought I'd include them too for good luck. I can imagine how scared you are for your Mom.. she's who you know and love.
We had to evacuate our home in Asheville, NC in the early '70s because a firefighters' practice fire got out of control and was headed for our house. I smelled the smoke and went down the hill to tell them about it. Very Windy that day.
We had a Montessori class in there too. i remember walking to the park where they all were gathered thinking of everything that would be gone. Not nearly as bad as your Mom's.
We were lucky.. the fire stopped just before the back of the house.. the back yard was charred.
