Serious issue, please read. [View all]

About a month ago, I read a post on DU from someone whose purported name is the same as my 90 yr old Mother's name. I thought it was just a coincidence and let it go, but it never left me because my Mother's name is not your everyday garden variety name. Now I am receiving messages on my Yahoo Account, one from a member of Congress asking my Mother's Name, for campaign donations. My 90 year old mother has never been on a computer, or Yahoo, or an IPhone, in her life. She also has Dementia and I'm concerned whether someone has stolen her identity. I don't know for certain if this is a scam but I was curious whether anyone else has received similar emails. If you have aging parents, I'd make sure that they are not being hit up for campaign contributions from real or imagined members of Congress, over the internet.

For the record, I have nothing against contributions to members of Congress. I've donated plenty to the Biden Campaign myself and would urge fellow Dems to do so as well. We've got to get Trump out of the White House.

Thanks
