(3,907 posts)1) Spend the remainder of his term like any normal president, helping prepare for the transition to the next administration.
2) (as you said) rile up his supporters in an attempt to delegitimize the election and remain in power.
3) Resign while declaring some sort of victory / mission accomplished / etc.
Out of those, there is no possible way that #1 is going to happen.
If it is at all close, I think #2 is very likely. If he thinks he has a chance to remain in power he will try to do so.
If it is not close then #3 is more likely. It is the political equivalent of declaring bankruptcy on a failed venture and walking away to avoid responsibility. Something he is very familiar with.
Of course he could use the rest of his term to undermine Biden and other Democrats in an attempt to help the Republicans. But I dont believe he cares about the Republican Party at all, other than using it for his benefit. Once that benefit is gone, he will have no interest. I just cant see him sitting there for a couple months having been branded a loser.
