(100,133 posts)Figure out a place to go and wait out trouble (if there is trouble maybe its just hot air). Keep the car(s) gassed up and pointed in the right direction for departure. If you really feel you have to leave, you might take some time to peel off the bumper stickers.
See, I believe in Having A Plan. It makes me feel in control. I don't know that having a firearm would help, but thats just me.
In my area you need a plan for wildfire evacuation. Rather than packing in advance, I just try to know where everything is, even in the dark. I have several laundry baskets whose sole purpose is to have a bunch of things thrown in them and be carried to the car. I have a box in the trunk of my car with a few necessities, too.
Off the ledge. Have A Plan.
