(13,446 posts)Yeah, I understand that the crowds at the stadiums will be "limited" along with tailgates, but are you paying ANY attention to the impact on the towns who will get invaded with the fans? WE who live in those host towns are also in the line to be exposed to COVID, and we don't have any say about it. It isn't just a matter of testing those student athletes with a rapid test, what about everybody that works for a living in that town and is exposed to fans running in and out for the game.
I had to be tested after a workplace exposure, and it took five days to get results. How many people do you think get exposed after the fans leave by just one waitress or bartender in five days? How about a clerk in the gas station or in the mall? The rest of us that are not college athletes have to live in these communities, and we don't have access to those "wonderful" magic tests that are supposed to keep this exercise in commercialism a safe gamble.
Seriously, I don't think you have any idea what a shitshow football game weekends really are like when it comes to the drunken assholes running around. This bring back football shit is a death sentence.
