Yes, they will.

Far too many of them talk as if the Republican party had some kind of stroke in 2015 and suddenly went haywire, not that Trump is the direct result of its trajectory for all of their adult lives (a trajectory they had a hand in propelling).

Far too many of them are repeating the "well, everybody got Iraq wrong" playbook, dismissing those who got it right -- and for the right reasons -- as "the loony left," or for the current situation, to quote Steve Schmidt, "precisely the type of people that explain the reciprocal tribalism that's gotten us into this fucking disaster." They are always clean, it's always someone else being nasty. It's certainly never the case where those other people saw things more clearly than they did, and a lot sooner.

And for the record, for "real conservatives" like these, the term "the Left" is used much more expansively than for people who speak standard English, and includes just about everybody here on DU, not just the Green goobers and jackass radicals.

They're barefooted at a dark-sanded beach on a scorching day, taking shelter under the awning of our concession stand because the hot sand burns their feet. Once it cools down enough for them to venture out, they'll get away from us contemptible types ASAP and go back to what they were doing before.

It's about the LP response to RBG's death. BannonsLiver Sep 2020 #1
