Yes, they had to issue a statement disparging RGB rather than honor her work.

Clearly by the words in the text from the NY Green Party, they don't believe RBG should be given creedence for her life's work in government.

They have declared that loudly in their statement.
I don't know how else to interpret the words of the tweet.

Perhaps someone else can address what they really meant because right now, it is damning & extremely offensive
