4. Saw on article on Daines' hypocrisy re: SCOTUS recently

Here's my favorite bit: "During an interview at Montana State University in 2016, Daines stated that he believed it was not “right” to appoint a nominee within an election year.

We can learn a lot about politicians from their rhetoric and their actions. Unlike his colleagues, Daines did not adopt cryptic reasoning. By using the word “right” Daines made it clear that in situations such as these, there is a distinct right and wrong. Can we trust a politician whose opinion of right and wrong changes every four years? This time around Daines has supported the potential nomination of a new Supreme Court justice only week away from an election!

This time around Daines has used strictly political motivations to vote for a nominee. He has expressed concern that only a Trump nominee will protect Montana's way of life. He went on to define Montana’s way of life as “self reliance, less government, outdoor heritage, and second amendment rights”. It is highly unlikely that any Supreme Court will vote against outdoors activity nor will it stop Americans from being self reliant. It goes without saying that, any law that infringes on the second amendment just for the sake of it would be null and void because it infringes on a constitutional amendment. Daines’ claims are shaky and hypocritical. They lack an understanding of the role of the Supreme Court. It is shameful to use your constituency as an excuse to perform bad politics."
