23. How do the regular refs keep things from getting out of hand?

Oh, yeah, they throw the flag, quickly and emphatically. If that doesn't work, they throw another flag the next time the incident occurs, oh, and the league throws in some post game fines as well.

The scab refs aren't throwing the flags they need to control the game. Players are getting helmet to helmet hits, and other illegal hits, yet no flags are called on the perps. That leads to general frustration on the part of one team or the other, or both, and a fight breaks out. Yet even when a fight breaks out, even when refs are having players put hands on them(a big no-no), still, no flags are being thrown.

You can argue for player professionalism, but that's not how it works in the real world or the real game. That is part of the reason the refs are there, to keep control of the game and to minimize injuries and mayhem.
