Sorry that your daughter and you had to go through this. My ex (career military) was up for a Top Secret clearance, they went through our finances with a fine tooth comb. Yes, it is completely hypocritical that someone owing this much money (including debts to foreign interests) should have the nuclear codes and hold security clearances (along with his family).

This is another narrative that needs to be pushed HARD -- that Trump and his organization are a danger to this country's national security.
