Justice is SUPPOSED to be blind. That’s our ideal and our ultimate goal. It’s encoded into the 14th Amendment which says that all people are equal under the law.

In practice, it’s a different story. It’s obvious that people ARE NOT equal under the law (for a variety of reasons), but “equal justice under the law” remains the goal of our judicial system.
