I am an ICU physician and after taken care of plenty of patients with COVID through this pandemic, he is an obese elderly man with god knows what other comorbidities that haven't been revealed to the public. If he were a diabetic or had heart disease then he has even bigger worries to be terrified about than losing this election.
Symptoms start on average 7-10 days after exposure, 7-14 days mark is the start of symptoms, depending on where you fall on the severity scale, they either subside or progress to the more severe phenotypes of COVID 19, ranging from needing high flow rates of oxygen all the way to going on the ventilator. If he is able to avoid hospitalization then he would be in the minority of patients in his risk group. We will have a better idea how this plays out in the next week I would say. If he skates by with no symptoms then he is a lucky bastard.
No doubt his medical team will be discussing offering him a range of therapeutic options, ranging from Remdesivir, convalescent plasma, steroids, and possibly a monoclonal antibody therapy on trial by Eli Lilly.
I wonder if he is still married to his Plaquenil?
