Those of us old school liberals are anti-war, anti-big business, pro-Constitution, pro-social services, pro-union, pro-education, pro-choice, pro-equal rights...
We have stood in place while the line for what it means to be a liberal was moved further and further to the right. Yesterday Glen Beck called Newt GinGrinch a "progressive". That's where I see the line at this point. It has moved so far to the right that many people actually think that Newt Fucking GinGrinch is a "progressive".
I see very few "liberals" on DU. I see a ton of Democrats and a ton of centrists but very few liberals. And from the looks of it the new DU was designed to weed out those.
Used to be you could correlate being a Democrat with being a liberal. Sadly those days are long gone.
I look forward to tomorrow's Nader post. I mean, without your posts I would have never known that Nader was so important.
