There was a point that the hospital staff came to find me...they were trying to take mom to get some imaging done, and she wasn't having any of it. They led me to an elevator, and there she was, on a gurney, legs in the air and holding open the elevator doors. Poor bastards didn't stand a chance.

It was especially terrifying because before the transplant, she'd been a (relatively) normal, sane person. I didn't find out about the prednisone overdose until after several days of exasperated discussions with her doctors (who may or may not have overdosed her due to preoccupation with extracurricular "activities&quot .
