38. It's funny but her mental illness did define me.

Not in ways you might think. I was very protective of my nieces and nephews at family gatherings. My mom expected them to act like adults. She’d be mad at my siblings for not controlling them. I was young enough to know how to engage them and keep them out of trouble.
As a result, I have great relationships with most of them!

My oldest brother - the abusive one - is out of my life. My other siblings have let him back in, but knowing how homophobic he is, I’m not about to do that.
