I live in CO, and I've seen almost no yard signs here at all. I've seen none for Obama, and about 6 for Romney seemed to sprout up overnight.
I volunteer at the local Obama office and we've had a lot of people come in asking for signs, but we don't have any to give them. You have to get one online for a donation.
The thought is that yard signs don't do anything, it is more important to spend the money on voter registration and GOTV stuff. I personally think there is a place for them. I need to see if I can dig out my sign from 4 years ago.

I saw one in my (very Democratic) neighborhood. May be the exception which proves the rule though,
