We are pregnant with a girl and had originally planned on naming her after my husband’s grandmother. After learning the last few weeks that she believes people of color and women cannot be leaders (she thinks Biden will die in office and does not think Kamala Harris can lead) and is voting for Trump, we have nixed that name. We haven’t told anyone our plans for names, so thankfully it won’t get back to her, but it just makes me sad that she thinks that way despite being a good person herself and always helping neighbors regardless of their skin color.
