You don't have to be rich to have a second home. My wife and I have small one. We saved hard...maxed 401k contribution for years and years. Many of our friends and acquaintances have cottages, too.

I don't begrudge him one bit for making a paid speech or two after getting out of office. A near 50-year public servant who sacrificed much deserves it. He's not a leech like his opponent!
