"If I'm employed and I'm doing great, then who gives a damn about unemployment rates and income inequality?"

I. Got. Mine.

That's the standard Republican approach. Pay no heed to the statistics, to the facts, to what is happening to fellow Americans. Just ask yourself if you're doing well, and if the answer is yes, screw everybody else.
