2. To me it looks like she jerked her hand forward

and it looked like she pulled his arm forward but that was because he didn’t let go right away.

My theory is that he is quite nervous about walking on an unfamiliar floor. There might be a step he doesn’t see or the stage floor might be slanted, which is not uncommon, and he felt the need to hold her hand to help him, but that at that instant she didn’t give a shit whether he fell on his face so she forcefully made him let go. Maybe she hoped he’s trip and fall.
