to decide how many early polling sites to have. My H wrote the bill as part of the budget process. There were issues with upstate R legislators not wanting it at all - so the compromise was letting counties decide how many early voting sites to have but a minimum of at least 1. Some of those counties also never requested the available funds in the bill they were entitled too. Another compromise was allowing the counties to decide where to put the polling sites.

Rensselaer County, for example, put all their sites in the city of Troy. None are in there suburbs or rural areas of the county.

My county (Albany) has them spread throughout the county.
