You do realize the following, don't you?

EZPass transponders and the Toll Plazas scan your License Plates & takes images of the Vehicle & Drivers.
This is whether you pay cash or use EZPass, your license plates, vehicle and driver's face are all imaged.

The GSP takes that one further by having periodic scanners and cameras along the route.

Both the New York State Thruway & GSP are private roadway entities, managed by their own authorities.
