A Republican Party staff member allegedly assaulted Lindsay Lohan at a five-star New York hotel last night.
Christian LaBella, 26, works for Illinois congressman John Shimkus and has been photographed with vice-presidential candidate Paul Ryan.
LaBella has been charged with harassment after allegedly getting in a tussle with Ms Lohan at the W Hotel in Manhattan's Union Square, when he is said to have punched her after she demanded he delete cellphone photos of her.
LaBella has his own connections to the famous and powerful - his aunt is comedian Heather McDonald, and he is employed as a staffer for Illinois GOP congressman John Shimkus.
On his Facebook page, he has posted images of himself posing with high-profile figures such as Mitt Romney's running mate Paul Ryan and former presidential candidate Herman Cain.

You sort of made my point. Assault is assault. It doesn't matter who or in what condition.

I don't think we're in disagreement there. I'm just saying that it's rape no matter what.

Well, maybe that would qualify for "legitimate rape" - I'll have to call Todd Akin to ask.

If it was a legitimate punch in the face, a woman's body has ways of avoiding it.
